Volae ES frame option
The future of traveling is here today with the NEW VOLAE ES frames. Whether you want a
Dual 650 high racer, a Dual 26” high racer or a 26/20 touring recumbent to take on trips overseas
or across the states, you won’t have to compromise performance when you ride a Volae recumbent with
the ES option. The cleverly engineered frame separates in the middle to facilitate packing in a standard
bike travel case while preserving the high performance that you demand.
Some travel bikes compromise performance to make the bike extremely compactable for traveling. Volae
chose to retain the legendary Volae performance even though it means that you may have to pay an extra
fee to take your bike with you.

Truvativ Crankset Substitutions
Due to supply issues stemming from the Oct. 14th SRAM factory fire,
Volae Club, Club Disc and Century models may be equipped with the
comparable FSA Gossamer MegaEXO cranks and bottom brackets instead of the
spec'd Truvativ Rouleur cranks.

New Wheel Options
We have two new Velocity wheelsets as an option for new Volaes.
The first wheelset is a dual 26" disc Aeroheat 36 hole. The Aeroheat
is compatible with the Expedition and Expedition Pro and is a good option
for heavier riders, those riding on rougher roads or doing loaded touring.
Click here to visit Velocity's Aeroheat page.
The second wheelset is a dual 650c Nuvian (uses an Aerohead rim) 24
hole front and 28 hole off-center rear. This has more spokes than the
Uriel or Spartacus wheelsets and is also good for more durability for
those that require it on their Team, Club, or Sport.
Click
here to visit Velocity's Nuvian page.

Volae Jersey and Shorts
We've been working to design high-quality performance jerseys
and shorts for recumbent riders. Our pre-production samples are here, so
we can show you what they look like.
Pro-Fit Short Features:
- Quality 8-panel lycra short for excellent fit.
- Front 2 panels have been merged to eliminate center seam.
- Chamois pad has been replaced with a reinforced lycra "modesty panel"
that you can't feel when riding, but eliminates the need to wear underwear
for modesty.
- 6 oz. 4-way stretch, 80% Nylon, 20% Lycra.
- Available in sizes MD to 2XL.
- Approx. Retail: $50.00
Jersey Features:
- Bright yellow color in torso and sleeves for visibility.
- "Club Cut" for a performance fit without being too tight.
- Custom Coomax mesh rear triple pocket with no elastic. You can't
feel it on the bike, but you still have a convenient (and normal) place to
carry incidentals off the bike.
- 7" zipper, elastic-hemmed sleeves and bottom.
- 100% 3.6 oz. Wickable Polyester Microfiber.
- Available in sizes MD to 4XL.
- Approx. Retail: $65.00
Our first batch will be small, and we are taking pre-orders now. Call
800-233-4340 to reserve yours.

New Club Disc model!
The Club will be available in a rear disc brake version upon request.
It will have disc dropouts on the rear, 135mm hub spacing, and upgraded
Velocity Uriel wheels (disc rear, rim brake front). Regular caliper rear
brake mounts will still be on the frame, should the rider wish to run it
without a rear disc brake in the future. The rear disc brake on the bike
will be the Avid BB7. Paint will be the regular Torch Blue Club finish
with the full carbon AlphaQ EX painted fork. The Club Disc will retail
for $2500.00 and should be available by April 1.

Truvativ is running a bit behind on the Rouleur and Rouleur Carbon crank
production. Until these cranks are available, we will be substituting the
FSA Gossamer MegaExo on the Club and the FSA SL-K MegaExo on the Team at
no extra charge. The Rotor upgrade cranks are in stock now and will
not be affected.

Team arrived... and it's great! I actually enjoyed
putting it together. Been a long time since I built a bike basically from
scratch. Gave me a chance to really check out all of the details.
Waterford does a REALLY good job. The dark blue contrasts really well
with the carbon bits. I only had a chance to ride it up and down the
street a few times to make sure that everything works but I plan on taking
it for some more serious rides this week when I'm off. One long flat
110km out and back and my semi-usual 50km climbing loop. I have a Radical
Alfa Solo seat bag that will work great with it. So far it feels just as
good as the Club that I was raving about at the 'BentRide. |
