Frame Sizes
How many people do you know? How many of those people are the same height, have the same length legs, or the same length arms? It doesn't take our training and experience fitting cyclists to realize that people come in all shapes, sizes and proportions. A rider's overall height, arm length, torso length, leg length, preferred recline angle and even shoe size all combine to provide an infinite number of possible bodies and potential bike fits. Manufacturers that only offer one or two sizes are neglecting to tell you something.

Just sliding your seat forward and backward on a rail and saying the bike "fits" is usually not quite true. In a performance recumbent, proper weight distribution is far more important to handling than fancy tubes or expensive components. Move your body too far forward or backward and handling and braking suffer. Adding over seat steering (OSS) to the mix further complicates fit, and you won't see us using a hinged handlebar riser just to "fit" more riders with one frame. That's just not good enough for Volae.

All Volae bikes are available in your choice of four different frame sizes. This ensures that we can match your leg length, overall height and preferred riding with the perfect weight distribution, and thus, perfect handling characteristics.

Seat Sizes
Everyone will admit that leg lengths vary wildly from person to person, so why would your torso be any different? Unlike other manufacturers jumping on the hardshell seat bandwagon, we've invested extensively to offer seats in (you guessed it) four different sizes in carbon fiber. Matching your seat size to your torso size ensures that you have a hardshell seat that fits your upper-body's particular length and curvature. If you've tried others and don't think hardshell seats are comfortable, a Volae seat that fits might just change your mind.

Team arrived... and it's great! I actually enjoyed putting it together. Been a long time since I built a bike basically from scratch. Gave me a chance to really check out all of the details. Waterford does a REALLY good job. The dark blue contrasts really well with the carbon bits. I only had a chance to ride it up and down the street a few times to make sure that everything works but I plan on taking it for some more serious rides this week when I'm off. One long flat 110km out and back and my semi-usual 50km climbing loop. I have a Radical Alfa Solo seat bag that will work great with it. So far it feels just as good as the Club that I was raving about at the 'BentRide.
